The York Daily Record Christmas Emergency Fund Campaign raised $18,474 for the York County Food Bank this year, thanks to the generosity of our readers.
Every year during the holiday season, YDR offers our readers the opportunity to support their communities through our Christmas Emergency Fund.
In 2023, YDR selected the York County Food Bank as the beneficiary of its fundraising efforts as many local residents struggle to put food on the table as inflation increases the cost of groceries.
For more than 30 years, the York County Food Bank has supported the principle that food is a basic human right and distributed millions of healthy meals each year.
Traditions Bank has partnered with YDR to collect and disburse all mail donations free of charge, so every penny goes to supporting local residents.
“For more than a decade, Traditions Bank has had the privilege of partnering with YDR/Sunday News to promote the Christmas Emergency Fund,” said Eugene Draganoski, Chairman of the Board and CEO. he said. “This initiative is inspiring, and so are the amazing responses from our readers. The touching letters that accompany so many checks always get us in the holiday spirit. York County Food Bank , York without hunger.”
