INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Home Show starts this weekend and runs through January 28th. Visitors can meet hundreds of vendors, step inside home models, and gain inspiration for future home investments.
“If you're just coming to see it, it's just a ton of knowledge and information, and sometimes you want something you didn't know you were looking for, or a little nugget, but you absolutely need to know. You'll walk away with a.'' Leslie Davis said.
Davis is visiting home shows with his twin sister Lindsey Lamb. The sisters appear as relators on her HGTV show, “Unsellable Houses,” where they help homebuyers invest in necessary renovations.
“I think homeowners often look online and on various social sites and think, 'Oh, everyone's updating their kitchens, so I must do it too.' Take a step back,” Davis said.
We know it's a dream to have a picture-perfect home, but they say homeowners really need to look at renovations that will make their home last longer.
“Small improvements can make a big difference in selling price, and that's what we're looking for,” Lamb said.
Although visitors can meet many unique vendors, both sisters say they don't have to overthink everything and really think about what will benefit their home. Especially for first-time home buyers, it can be difficult to know where to start.
“Don't rush to buy the first thing you see because you think that's all you're going to get. There's always more options, but be willing to make some compromises,” Lam says. To tell.
