WILMINGTON — Small business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to the Small Business Summit hosted by the Small Business Center at Cape Fear Community College.
If you are a current or aspiring small business owner or entrepreneur, we encourage you to join us. Participation is free, but participants must register in advance. Registration can be completed here. The event will be held at the CFCC's Union Station Building on Saturday, June 1st from 9am to 6pm.
The summit provides an opportunity to interact with trained professionals, business consultants, and other entrepreneurs. Panel discussions and information sessions will be held with the aim of providing information that will help your business grow. Financial guidance, in-person and online growth, and the importance of resilience are among the topics discussed.
Benjamin Hall, a war journalist and national affairs correspondent for Fox News, will be the event's keynote speaker. In 2022, while covering the war in Ukraine, Hall and his team were seriously injured when their vehicle was struck by a Russian drone strike, according to a CFCC press release. Two of the crew were killed, but Hall was seriously injured and remained in fear for his safety. Hall's book, “Saved: A War Correspondent's Mission to Return Home,'' discusses his near-death experience and constant struggle to survive.
Hall's book will be distributed free of charge to all participants.
The goal of CFCC's Small Business Center is to support the development and growth of small businesses. The program partners with local entrepreneurship to provide seminars, courses, and counseling to individuals interested in starting a business.
