LAFAYETTE — Purdue basketball's career leading scorer will headline the Tippecanoe Sports Collectibles Show this Saturday.
Rick Mount will be one of the guests fans can meet in the west wing of the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds, 1406 Teal Road, Lafayette, on Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission is $5 per person, children 12 and under are free. The first 150 people to enter will receive a gift bag.
Mount, who earned 2,323 points from 1967 to 1970, can attend the handshake event for $25 per person. Mount led the Boilermakers to his 1969 NCAA championship game, and in 1966 he became the first high school athlete to be featured on the cover of Illustrated magazine.
Other announced guests include Purdue Hall of Famer Dave Schellhase, one of five players in men's basketball history to score 2,000 or more career points.
His 28.8 points per game ranks second all-time behind Mount. Mr. Schellhase will be on hand to sign copies of his new book, “The Schellhase Story: Rise, Fall, Redemption.” Schellhase will sign the contract free of charge.
Two Purdue players who are coming off stellar freshman seasons, football's Dillon Thieneman and volleyball's Chloe Chicoine, are also expected to sign, along with sophomore All-American volleyball player Eva Hudson and former men's basketball player Todd Foster. is.
There will also be a swag booth at the event, hosted by Railsplitters Authentics.
