On Sunday, 22-year-old U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. Madison Marsh was named Miss America 2024. This is the first time that an active duty military member has received the top award.
Marsh graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy last year with a degree in physics and was crowned Miss America 2024 after being Miss Colorado.

Marsh is also a graduate student at the Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, studying for a master's degree in public policy.
Marsh and his family established the Whitney Marsh Foundation after his mother, Whitney, died of pancreatic cancer in 2018. According to her profile page, the foundation has raised more than $250,000 for pancreatic cancer research.
